abstract

in order to map qtls controlling phonological traits of barley under normal and drought stress conditions, an experiment was conducted by 72 doubled-haploid lines and their two parents (steptoe and morex), at the research farm, college of agriculture, university of zabol, in 2011. the experiment was arranged in completely randomized block designs with three replications under normal irrigation and drought stress conditions. phonological traits such as days to emergence, days to tillering, days to stem emergence, days to heading, days to flowering, days to milking, days to doughying, days to maturity and grain filing period were measured. qtl analysis was carried out with composite interval mapping (cim) method by qtl cartographer software ver 2.5. barley molecular marker linkage map comprised of 327 rflp markers with 1226.3 cm length and 3.75 cm mean distance. the effect of genotype was significant (p<0.01) for all studied traits. a totall of forty two qtls were detected for different studied traits. phenotypic variances explained by these qtls varied from 6.34% for days to flowering to 41.18% for days to milking. the highest lod score was for days to doughying that was located on 2h chromosome. mapped qtls don’t have necessary stability. therefore, gain through marker-assisted selection (mas) in this population for these traits likely would be limited. because, the environment plays a tremendous role in the phenotypic expression of phonological traits.

Determination of QTLs Associated with Agronomic and Physiological Traits under Normal and Salinity Conditions in Barley

mapping the QTLs of agronomic and physiological traits, 149 double haploid (DH) lines from a cross between an Australian cultivar, Clipper (salt susceptible), and an Algerian landrace, Sahara3771 (salt tolerant), were evaluated under natural saline (Yazd Station, ECsoil=10-12.8 ds/m and ECwater= 9-10 ds/m) and normal (Karaj Station, ECsoil and ECwater ~2-2.5 ds/m) environments. There were remar...

Path Analysis of Yield Related Traits in Wheat Genotypes under Normal Irrigation and Drought Stress Conditions

For identification of correlations and relations among different traits in bread wheat, 30 genotypes were investigated based on a split plot experiment in the form of randomized complete block design with three replications under normal and moisture stress conditions during the 2016-2017 crop season. The results of the analysis of variance showed that the effect of genotypes was significant for...

Identification of Informative Alleles Controlling Rice Traits under Flooding and Drought Stress Conditions‌‌

One of the main objectives of plant breeding is defining the relationship between genotype and phenotype. Nowadays, molecular markers provide powerful tools to evaluate this relationship for plant breeders. In this study, genetic diversity of 112 rice lines was evaluated by 20 pairs of SSR markers which linked to drought tolerant alleles. Totally, 77 polymorphic alleles with mean of 3.85 allele...

mapping of qtls controlling tolerance to drought and salt stress at germination stage of rice

salinity and drought are two major abiotic stresses that affect rice (oryza sativa l.) production in worldwide. salt and drought tolerance and high seedling vigor of rice is one of the important traits in the establishment of seedling in direct planting system and saline and drought environments. in this research, the mapping population of f2:4 families derived from the cross between local vari...

Interval mapping of QTLs controlling some morphological traits in pea.

A linkage map of pea was constructed based on a 104 RIL population derived from the cross combination Wt10245 x Wt11238. The map, which consisted of 204 morphological, isozyme, AFLP, ISSR, STS, CAPS and RAPD markers, was used for interval mapping of the QTLs controlling the stem length and internode number of pea. In the characterization of a given QTL, we included an identification of its posi...
